Zendee Rose Tenerife

Zendee Rose Tenerefe, the girl who became a YouTube sensation after someone took a video of her while singing “And I Am Telling You” in SM Megamall (Philippines) using a videoke microphone, has been invited to audition in The Voice Season 3.

Zendee Rose, also known as “Random Girl in SM Megamall,” became a household name after her YouTube video went viral. Thanks to the uploaded video on YouTube, Zendee has appeared on GMA programs, such as Party Pilipinas and Manny Many Prizes. She was also invited by no less than Ellen DeGeneres to appear on her talk show “Ellen.”

Last Saturday, September 1, after her performance in Manny Many Prizes, co-host Paulo Contis surprised her with another good news. Impressed by her voice, Carson Daly, the host of the American version of The Voice, on NBC, invited her to audition in season 3 of the hit reality singing competition “The Voice” in front of mentor-judges Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, and Blake Shelton.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (MindaNews/25 October) – Bubbly Filipina singer Zendee Rose Tenerife will appear in the biggest stage of her phenomenal rise to popularity when she guests in the Ellen DeGeneres Show Friday  (Saturday in the Philippines) along with Oscar-nominated actress Halle Berry.
Yes, Zendee is now in California preparing for the taping of the episode that will have her talent showcased before millions around the world, some 11,500 kilometers away from where she grew up in General Santos City.
Just four months ago, Zendee was an unknown entity trying her luck in the big city after years of singing in lounges, banquets, weddings and birthdays and front acting for artists performing in General Santos City while finishing her studies.  On the side, she taught vocal lessons to kids and choreography to fellow aspiring singers.
Never in the wildest dreams of the 21-year old performer did she ever think she would appear in a stage as big as the Ellen DeGeneres show.
True, she dreamt of becoming a recording artist and a popular singer, as any artist would.
She had her share of failure and disappointment but setting her foot in the US and singing before comic host Ellen DeGeneres was an ultimate dream come true.
Mao jud ni pangarap ni (This is really the dream of) Zendee,” her mother Jinky said.
Zendee and her mother left for the US on Monday and are now in California excitedly waiting for the October 25 taping day.  The show is expected to be aired the following day.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show is aired on cable TV channels Star World Philippines at 12pm on weekends, daily on 2nd Avenue at 1pm and 12 pm on weekdays on Solar TV.  It is also shown on NBC channel at 4pm on weekdays.
A teaser from the producers of The Ellen DeGeneres Show said Zendee will be “the next big thing.”
The show’s website said “Don’t miss this jaw-dropping, once-in-a-lifetime performance from a young singer.”
The other Filipina celebrity to perform in The Ellen Show is diva Charice Pempengco.
Zendee became a phenomenal hit in the internet after a video of her singing in a mall in Manila was uploaded in YouTube.
She became the Random Girl as the YouTube video was apparently randomly taken without her ever facing the camera.
The video went viral and eased the pain of her elimination from a TV reality show.
But that rejection proved providential as she became an even bigger star now.
Zendee just signed a recording contract with Warner Philippines which outfit in the Philippines is also now managing her.
He mother said appearing in the Ellen show was honor and privilege enough for them.
“They provided for our fare and accommodation,” said Jinky who hoped that her guesting in the show would open up more doors for opportunity.
